In this Q&A, Jonathan Abdilla, the Producer of the Napoleon Project answers some general questions about the Napoleon Project. Stay tuned for more sessions and feel free to submit your questions you would like to see answered in the next Q&A.
Who is Mutah Beale?
Mutah Beale is better known by his former stage name of Napoleon. He was an original member of Tupac Shakur’s rap group the Outlawz. He appeared on approximately 40 000 000 records that have been sold world wide and also appeared on a number of music video’s featuring Tupac and the Outlawz before going solo.
What is the Napoleon Project about?
Mutah had many highs and lows in his life that are exceptional in many ways. From witnessing the death of his parents in childhood, to reaching the heights of fame with the most successful rapper in history, to bearing with the loss of his mentor, Mutah experienced allot of drama in his life. I think that allot of people will be able to take principles from the practical example of Mutah’s first hand experience, and apply it to themselves to try and better themselves.
Nobody is perfect, but sometimes it’s easier to move forward when we see a real life example and role model.
What can we expect from the documentary?
We intend to cover Mutah’s story through first hand accounts from the people who were around to witness the different stages of his life. Mutah’s story has been summarize many times by himself while giving various motivational talks around the world, but it’s different when you hear it from another person’s point of view. There are allot of subtle facts of significance that people don’t know about that will really shed light on some things in the past.
Will there be any unreleased footage or unknown facts in the documentary?
Yes, we intend to include some unreleased footage and material of Mutah from back in the day and now to really highlight the change. For people who have been following the saga left by Pac and the Outlawz, including the aftermath of Pac’s death, there are allot of people that we’ve heard about, but never really heard from. We intend to hear from those people directly and get a complete idea of some of the things that actually went down.
We also make sure what we do is in accordance with Mutah’s faith and moral principles. We consult major Islamic Scholars about issues of doubt.
As a fan of Tupac and the Outlawz back in the day, and as a Muslim convert now who has had some formal Islamic education, I feel that I have a good understanding of the best way to bring out this project while pleasing both crowds, and I think that everybody will be satisfied with the final product.

Salamu alaykom mr beloved brother in Islam. Mutah i ask Allah to reward you in the way that you will be pleased foeever, the example of us giving up this temporary donya temptations is like that of a boy giving up his stupid little toy car for a real car. keep it up and keep your head in sujood and also make dua’a for the youth to come back to Allah. Sulayman from Melbourne, Australia where so many people love you but not cause of your fame but for the sake of Allah. And i’m the first of them.
